HARI JUMAT 2

HARI JUMAT BERDOA

PRAYING ON FRIDAY

- Friday is a special day and the weekly festival for Muslims, marking major events such as the creation and passing of Prophet Adam AS, as well as the day when life in this world will come to an end.
- On Friday, it is recommended to increase acts of worship, prayer, remembrance of Allah, salutations upon the Prophet, and supplications—both during the night and the day. Traditional religious gatherings are also suspended so that people can focus fully on worship.
- There exists "Sa’atul Ijabah" (the time when supplications are answered) on Friday, which is very brief. According to a hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari, any Muslim who prays during this time while engaged in worship will have their requests granted by Allah.
- There is no clear and definitive explanation in the hadith regarding the exact timing of Sa’atul Ijabah, leading to differing opinions among Islamic scholars.
- The majority of scholars of the Shafi’i school of thought hold that this time falls between the khatib (preacher) taking his seat on the pulpit before the sermon and the completion of the Friday prayer, in line with hadith narrated by Muslim and Abi Dawud. This is only a brief moment, not the entire duration of this period.
- Although worshippers are advised to remain silent and listen attentively during the sermon, supplications can still be made by holding them in one’s heart without uttering them aloud, as explained by Sheikh Jalaluddin Al-Bulqini.
- Since the exact timing is unknown, it is advised to offer more prayers and acts of worship and set aside worldly matters throughout Friday, in the hope of encountering Sa’atul Ijabah

DALIL

Meaning: “From the Companion Abu Hurairah RA: The Messenger of Allah SAW mentioned Friday and then said regarding it, ‘On this day, there is a time. No Muslim who encounters it while engaged in worship and asks Allah for something will have their request ungranted—Allah will surely grant it.’ The Messenger of Allah indicated with his hand that this time is very brief.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)
