Definisi Madzi
Hukum Keluar Madzi Saat Puasa
1. Pendapat Mayoritas (Jumhur) Ulama

MADZI DURING FASTING
Definition of Madzi
- A white, clear, and sticky fluid that comes out of the genitals when feeling sexual desire.
- It does not gush out, and after coming out, it does not cause a feeling of weakness (unlike maniy [semen], which causes weakness).
- It can come out at any time, usually when a husband and wife are being intimate.
Ruling on Madzi Coming Out During Fasting
1. Opinion of the Majority (Jumhur) of Scholars
- The coming out of madzi does not break the fast.
- This includes the opinion of the Shafi’i scholars (with no difference of opinion among them), as well as Hasan al-Bashri, ash-Sha’bi, al-Awza’i, Abu Hanifah, Abu Thawr, and Ibn al-Mundhir.
- Reason: Madzi does not come out through the process of inzal (the emission of semen), it is similar to urination or other fluids that come out, and it does not require a full ritual bath (ghusl).
2. Other Opinions
- Imam Malik and Imam Ahmad are of the opinion that madzi which comes out as a result of kissing breaks the fast.
Conclusion and Advice
- Generally, the coming out of madzi does not break the fast according to the majority of scholars.
- However, Muslims are advised to protect their fast from things that can reduce its reward, such as indulging in sexual desire, lying, ghibah (backbiting), and slandering, in addition to refraining from food and drink.
CONCLUSION
It is better not to be intimate while fasting. Just have neutral interactions without any intimacy until Maghrib arrives

(Syekh Hasan Hitou, Fiqh ash-Shiyam, Dar el Basyair al-Islamiyyah, cetakan pertama tahun 1988, halaman 68)
“If a husband kisses his wife while he is fasting, then feels pleasure and emits madzi, but does not emit maniy, the majority (jumhur) of scholars hold that his fast is not broken. This is the view of the Shafi’i scholars, with no disagreement among them. Ibn al-Mundhir narrated this opinion (that one whose fast is not broken if he emits madzi) from Hasan al-Bashri, ash-Sha’bi, al-Awza’i, Abu Hanifah, and Abu Thawr. He (Ibn al-Mundhir) said: ‘This is my view" (Sheikh Hasan Hitou, Fiqh ash-Shiyam, Dar el Basyair al-Islamiyyah, first edition 1988, page 68)
