1. Dasar Hukum dan Alasan Cinta Ahlul Bait
Ahlul Bait memiliki kemuliaan tersendiri, dan Rasulullah ﷺ telah menunjukkan perhatian khusus serta berulang kali berwasiat agar umat mencintai mereka
2. Sikap Wajar, Tidak Berlebih-lebihan
Seluruh kaum Muslimin diwajibkan untuk mencintai, menyayangi, menghormati, dan memuliakan Ahlul Bait dengan cara yang tepat tanpa adanya kesalahan berlebihan (ghuluw) atau penyimpangan (jika salah misal gak sholat ya di ingatkan)
3. Penghormatan untuk Semua Anggota Ahlul Bait
Bahkan bagi anggota Ahlul Bait yang tidak mengikuti jejak leluhur mereka yang suci dan terjebak dalam kebodohan hingga mencampuradukkan hal yang baik dan buruk, tetap layak dihormati karena kekerabatan mereka dengan Rasulullah (di hormati dengan tingkat di bawah ahlul bait yang lurus) ﷺ. Namun, mereka yang berhak dan mampu (misal sesama keturunan/ulama dll) hendaknya menasihati serta mendorong mereka kembali kepada jalan kebaikan, ilmu, amal shaleh, akhlak mulia, dan perilaku luhur seperti para pendahulu yang saleh (imam. nabi dsb)
4. Kesalahan Pandangan yang Harus Dihindari
Pernyataan bahwa "Ahlul Bait tidak akan terkena mudarat dari dosa karena akan disyafati oleh Rasulullah ﷺ" adalah ucapan yang sangat salah dan berbahaya. Hal ini tidak hanya merugikan si pembicara sendiri tetapi juga orang lain yang kurang mengetahui. Sebagaimana dalam Al-Qur'an, pahala amal baik mereka dilipatgandakan, begitu pula hukuman atas perbuatan buruknya (selain nabi siapa aja tetap terkena dosa jika melakukan sebuah dosa)

LOVE FOR THE DESCENDANTS OF THE PROPHET
1. Legal Basis and Reasons for Loving Ahlul Bait
Ahlul Bait have their own inherent nobility, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ showed them special care while repeatedly exhorting the ummah (Muslim community) to love them.
2. Moderate Attitude, No Excesses
All Muslims are obligated to love, cherish, honor, and esteem Ahlul Bait in an appropriate manner—without excess (ghuluw) or deviation. For example, if someone neglects obligatory acts like prayer, they should be reminded.
3. Respect for All Members of Ahlul Bait
Even for members of Ahlul Bait who do not follow the path of their pure ancestors, and are trapped in ignorance to the point of mixing good and evil, they still deserve respect because of their kinship with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (though the level of respect is lower than that for Ahlul Bait who adhere to the right path). However, those who are entitled and capable (such as fellow descendants or religious scholars) should advise and encourage them to return to the path of goodness, knowledge, righteous deeds, noble morals, and virtuous conduct—following in the footsteps of their pious predecessors (such as imams and prophets).
4. Misconceptions to Avoid
The claim that "Ahlul Bait will not be harmed by sins because they will be interceded for by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ" is a very wrong and dangerous statement. It harms not only the speaker themselves but also others who lack knowledge. As stated in the Qur'an, their reward for good deeds is doubled, just as punishment for bad deeds is also doubled. (Except for the prophets, anyone who commits a sin will still be held accountable)
CONCLUSION
This principle also applies to figures like gus and kiyai who are connected to pious individuals they deserve respect in accordance with their own conduct and character. If they act wrongly, they should be reminded and corrected, not allowed to continue in error
DALIL
فعلى كافة المسلمين أن يعتقدوا حبّهم ومودتهم، وان يوقّروهم ويعظّموهم من غير غلوّ ولا إسراف
Artinya: “Seluruh kaum Muslimin hendaknya memastikan kecintaan dan kasih sayang mereka kepada Ahlul Bait, serta menghormati dan memuliakan mereka secara wajar dan tidak berlebih-lebihan.”
Sayyid Abdullah Al-Haddad mengimbau agar mereka tetap dihormati semata-mata karena mereka adalah kerabat Nabi Muhammmad ﷺ dengan tidak meninggalkan perlunya memberikan nasihat kepada mereka
Meaning: "All Muslims should ensure their love and affection for Ahlul Bait, as well as honor and esteem them appropriately and without excess."
Sayyid Abdullah Al-Haddad exhorts that they should be respected solely because they are relatives of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, while not neglecting the need to offer them advice
لأهل بيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم شرف، ولرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بهم مزيد عناية وقد أكثر على أمته من الوصيّة بهم والحث على حبّهم ومودتهم. وبذالك أمرالله تعالى في كتابه في قوله تعالى: "قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إلا المودة في القربى" .(الشورى، ٢٣) ـ
Artinya: “Ahlul Bait memiliki kemuliaan tersendiri, dan Rasulullah telah menunjukkan perhatiannya yang besar kepada mereka. Beliau berulang-ulang berwasiat dan mengimbau agar umatnya mencintai dan menyayangi mereka. Dengan itu pula Allah subhanahu wataála telah memerintahkan di dalam Al-Qur’an dengan firman-Nya: “Katakanlah wahai Muhammad, tiada aku minta suatu balasan melainkan kecintan kalian pada kerabatku.” (QS 42:23)
Meaning: "Ahlul Bait have their own distinct nobility, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) showed great care for them. He repeatedly gave counsel and exhorted his ummah (Muslim community) to love and cherish them. Allah the Almighty has also commanded this in the Qur’an with His words: “Say, [O Muhammad], ‘I ask of you no reward for it except affection among relatives.’” (Surah Ash-Shura, 42:23)
وأما من كان من أهل هذا البيت ليس على مثل طرائق أسلافهم الطاهرين، وقد دخل عليهم شيئ من التخليط لغلبة الجهل، فينبغي أيضا أن يعظّموا ويحترموا لقرابتهم من رسول الله الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. ولا يدعوا المتأهل للنصيحة نصحهم وحثّهم على الأخذ بما كان عليه سلفهم الصالح, من العلم والعمل الصالح، والأخلاق الحسنة والسيرالمرضية
Artinya: “Adapun mereka yang berasal dari keluarga dan keturunan Rasulullah ini yang tidak menempuh jalan leluhur mereka yang disucikan, lalu mencampur adukkan antara yang baik dan yang buruk disebabkan kejahilannya, seyogyanyalah mereka tetap dihormati semata-mata karena kekerabatan mereka dengan Nabi ﷺ. Namun siapa saja yang memiliki keahlian atau kedudukan untuk memberi nasihat, hendaknya tidak segan-segan menasihati dan mendorong mereka kembali menempuh jalan hidup para pendahulu mereka yang saleh-saleh, yang berilmu dan beramal kebajikan, berakhlak terpuji dan berperilaku luhur.” (Lihat hal. 90)
Meaning: "As for those from the family and descendants of the Prophet ﷺ who do not follow the path of their purified ancestors, and thus mix good with evil due to ignorance, they should still be respected solely because of their kinship with the Prophet ﷺ. However, whoever has the knowledge or standing to give advice should not hesitate to counsel and encourage them to return to the way of life of their righteous predecessors—those who possessed knowledge, did good deeds, had commendable morals, and conducted themselves with nobility."
