ALASAN MENGAPA KITA WAJIB MENCINTAI ULAMA

 

Mencintai para ulama adalah kewajiban bagi setiap muslim dan merupakan amalan yang sangat terpuji. Hal ini bukan tanpa alasan, karena ada hikmah besar di balik perintah untuk mengasihi mereka yang benar-benar mengamalkan ilmunya.

 

Berikut adalah penjelasan indah dari para ulama mengenai hal ini:

 

Dalil dari Kitab Al-Kabair karya Adz-Dzahabi halaman 239:

 

“Wajib bagi seorang muslim mencintai Allah Ta’ala, Rasulullah SAW, segala ajaran yang dibawa oleh Rasulullah, orang-orang yang menjalankan perintah-Nya, serta mereka yang berpegang teguh pada petunjuk dan sunnah beliau. Demikian pula wajib mencintai keluarga, sahabat, istri, dan keturunan beliau, serta siapa saja yang mencintai mereka. Sebaliknya, wajib membenci siapa yang memusuhi mereka. Karena sesungguhnya, tali keimanan yang paling kuat adalah mencintai karena Allah dan membenci karena Allah.”

 

Penjelasan Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani dalam Kitab Qomi’ At-Thugyan:

 

“Mencintai Rasulullah SAW adalah bukti nyata cinta kita kepada Allah Ta’ala. Begitu juga halnya dengan mencintai ulama dan orang-orang yang bertakwa. Sesungguhnya Allah mencintai mereka, dan merekalah yang mencintai Allah. Segala bentuk cinta ini pada hakikatnya kembali kepada cinta kepada Sang Pemilik Cinta. Karena sesungguhnya tidak ada yang pantas dicintai secara hakiki dan sejati melainkan hanya Allah Ta’ala semata.”

 

Penjelasan Imam Al-Ghazali dalam Ihya ‘Ulumiddin:

 

“Mencintai Rasulullah SAW itu sangat terpuji, karena mencintai beliau sama artinya dengan mencintai Allah. Begitu pula mencintai ulama dan orang saleh. Logikanya sederhana: Kekasihnya kekasih pasti kekasih, utusan kekasih pasti kekasih, dan orang yang mencintai kekasih pun pasti kekasih"

WHY WE MUST LOVE THE SCHOLARS

 

Loving the scholars is an obligation for every Muslim and a highly praiseworthy deed. This is not without reason, for there is great wisdom behind the command to cherish those who truly practice what they know.

 

Here are beautiful explanations from the scholars regarding this matter:

 

Evidence from the book Al-Kabair by Adh-Dhahabi, page 239:

 

"It is obligatory for a Muslim to love Allah Ta’ala, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, all the teachings brought by the Messenger, those who carry out His commands, and those who firmly adhere to his guidance and Sunnah. Likewise, it is obligatory to love his family, Companions, wives, descendants, and anyone who loves them. Conversely, it is obligatory to dislike whoever harbors enmity towards them. Indeed, the strongest bond of faith is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah."

 

Explanation by Shaykh Nawawi Al-Bantani in the book Qami’ At-Thugyan:

 

"Loving the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is clear proof of our love for Allah Ta’ala. The same applies to loving the scholars and the God-fearing (muttaqin). Verily, Allah loves them, and they are the ones who love Allah. All forms of this love essentially return to the love of the Originator. For, in truth, there is none worthy of being loved truly and genuinely except Allah Ta’ala alone."

 

Explanation by Imam Al-Ghazali in Ihya ‘Ulumiddin:

 

"Loving the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is praiseworthy, for loving him is equivalent to loving Allah. Similarly is the case with loving the scholars and the righteous. The logic is simple: The beloved of one's beloved is indeed beloved, the messenger of the beloved is beloved, and the one who loves the beloved is also beloved."

DALIL

الواجب على المسلم حب الله وحب رسوله وحب ما جاء به وحب من يقوم بأمره وحب من يأخذ بهديه ويعمل بسنته وحب آله وأصحابه وأزواجه وأولاده وغلمانه وخدامه وحب من يحبهم وبغض من يبغضهم لأن أوثق عرى الإيمان الحب في الله والبغض في الله

"Wajib bagi muslim mencintai Alloh ta'ala, Rasulullah, Sesuatu yang telah disampaikan oleh Kanjeng Rasul, Orang-orang yang melakukan perintah Kanjeng Rasul, Orang-orang yang mengambil petunjuk Kanjeng Rosul dan beramal sunnah-sunnahnya, mencintai Keluarganya Kanjeng Rasul, para sahabat, Istri-istrinya, putra-putrinya, Pendereknya dan orang yang mencintai orang yang mencintai semuanya Dan wajib membenci orang yang membenci semuanya. Karena sesungguhnya paling kuatnya tali keimanan ialah cinta karena Alloh dan benci karena Alloh"

"It is obligatory for a Muslim to love Allah Ta’ala, the Messenger of Allah, everything that the Noble Messenger has brought, those who carry out his commands, and those who follow his guidance and practice his Sunnah. It is also obligatory to love his family, his Companions, his wives, his children, his servants, and whoever loves them. And it is obligatory to dislike whoever dislikes them. Indeed, the strongest bond of faith is to love for the sake of Allah and to hate for the sake of Allah"

وحب الرسول هو عين حب الله تعالى، وكذلك حب العلماء والأتقياء، لأن الله تعالى يحبهم وهم يحبونه، وكل ذلك يرجع إلى حب الأصل فلا يتجاوزه إلى غيره فلا محبوب بالحقيقة عند ذوي البصائر إلا الله تعالى ولا مستحق للمحبة سواه.

"Mencintai kanjeng Rasul ialah Bukti mencintai Alloh ta'ala, dan begitupun mencintai ulama dan orang-orang yang bertakwa. Karena sesungguhnya Alloh ta'ala itu mencintainya dan beliau-beliau mencintai Alloh. Dan Mencintai semuanya kembali pada cinta Asal, Maka pecinta tidak akan melewati selainnya karena tidak Ada Dzat yang dicintai secara Hakikatnya menurut Orang yang mempunyai mata hati yang tajam terkecuali Alloh ta'ala Dan Tidak ada Dzat yang berhak untuk dicintai selain Alloh"

"Loving the Messenger is the very proof of loving Allah Ta’ala, and the same applies to loving the scholars and the God-fearing people. For indeed, Allah Ta’ala loves them, and they love Allah. And loving all of them ultimately returns to the love of the Origin. Therefore, the lover does not go beyond this, because in reality, there is no Being truly worthy of love in the sight of those with insight except Allah Ta’ala. And there is no entity deserving of love other than Him (allah)"

وحب الرسول ﷺ محمود لأنه عين حب الله تعالى وكذلك حب العلماء والأتقياء لأن محبوب المحبوب محبوب ورسول المحبوب محبوب ومحب المحبوب محبوب. 

"Mencintai Kanjeng Rasul Shollallohu 'alaihi wasallam itu terpuji, karena mencintainya adalah mencintai Alloh ta'ala. Begitupun mencintai ulama dan orang-orang yang bertakwa. Karena sesungguhnya kekasihnya kekasih ialah kekasih dan Utusan Kekasih itu kekasih Dan orang yang mencintai kekasih itu juga kekasih"

"Loving the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is praiseworthy, for loving him is indeed loving Allah Ta’ala. The same applies to loving the scholars and the God-fearing. The reason is truly simple: the beloved of the Beloved is beloved, the messenger of the Beloved is beloved, and whoever loves the Beloved is also beloved"
