SEBAB DIBOLEHKANNYA BERTAYAMUM

 

1. Ketiadaan air (baik benar-benar tidak ada atau air hanya cukup untuk minum).

2. Jauhnya air (jaraknya lebih dari 2,5 km atau setengah farsakh).

3. Sulitnya menggunakan air (terhalang musuh, binatang buas, dipenjara, atau karena sakit/luka yang takut memburuk jika kena air).

4. Kondisi sangat dingin (tidak ada alat untuk menghangatkan badan setelah mandi).

 

 

 

HAL YANG HARUS DIPERHATIKAN

 

1. Tayamum dilakukan setelah masuk waktu shalat.

2. Mencari air terlebih dahulu jika alasannya karena tidak ada air.

3. Menggunakan tanah/debu yang bersih, kering, dan suci (bukan batu, kapur, atau tepung).

4. Najis harus dibersihkan terlebih dahulu sebelum tayamum.

5. Tayamum berlaku untuk satu kali shalat fardhu saja, namun bisa dilanjutkan untuk shalat sunat atau membaca Al-Quran.

6. Rukun Tayamum: Niat, mengusap wajah, mengusap kedua tangan, dan dilakukan secara tertib.

 

 

 

TATA CARA BERTAYAMUM

 

1. Menghadap kiblat, membaca basmalah, lalu tepukkan kedua telapak tangan ke tanah/debu.

2. Usapkan kedua tangan ke seluruh wajah disertai niat: "Aku berniat tayamum agar diperbolehkan shalat karena Allah Ta'ala."

3. Tepukkan tangan kembali ke debu (jari direnggangkan, lepas cincin).

4. Usapkan telapak tangan kiri ke punggung tangan kanan hingga siku, lalu balik ke bagian dalam hingga pergelangan.

5. Lakukan hal yang sama pada tangan kiri dengan tangan kanan.

6. Usapkan jari-jari tangan kanan dan kiri satu sama lain.

7. Disunnahkan membaca doa setelah selesai

REASONS FOR PERFORMING TAYAMMUM

 

1. Unavailability of water (either there is truly no water at all, or the available water is only sufficient for drinking).

2. Distance of water (located more than 2.5 km or half a farsakh away).

3. Difficulty accessing water (blocked by enemies, wild animals, imprisonment, or due to illness/injury where contact with water may worsen the condition).

4. Extreme cold weather (no means available to warm the body after washing).

 

 

 

THINGS TO NOTE

 

1. Tayammum must be performed after the prayer time has entered.

2. Search for water first if the reason is due to unavailability.

3. Use clean, dry, and pure earth/dust (not stone, lime, or flour).

4. Impurities (najis) must be removed before performing Tayammum.

5. Tayammum is valid for one obligatory prayer (Fardhu) only, but can be continued for voluntary prayers (Sunat), funeral prayers, or reciting the Quran.

6. Pillars of Tayammum: Intention (Niat), wiping the face, wiping both hands, and performing them in order.

 

 

 

PROCEDURE FOR TAYAMMUM

 

1. Face the Qiblah, recite Basmalah, then place both palms on the earth/dust.

2. Wipe both hands over the entire face with the intention: "I intend to perform Tayammum to make prayer permissible for the sake of Allah Ta'ala."

3. Place hands on the dust again (spread fingers, remove rings if any).

4. Wipe the left palm over the back of the right hand and arm up to the elbow, then turn it over to wipe the inner arm down to the wrist.

5. Do the same for the left hand and arm using the right hand.

6. Interlace the fingers of the right and left hands.

7. It is recommended (Sunnah) to recite the supplication (dua) after finishing

DALIL

مَنْ تَعَذَّرَ عَلَيْهِ اسْتِعْمَالُ الْمَاءِ لفقده بعد الطلب أو بمانع لَهُ عَنِ الْوُصُولِ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ سَبُعٍ أَوْ حَابِسٍ أَوْ كَانَ الْمَاءُ الْحَاضِرُ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ لِعَطَشِهِ أَوْ لِعَطَشِ رَفِيقِهِ أَوْ كَانَ مِلْكًا لِغَيْرِهِ وَلَمْ يَبِعْهُ إِلَّا بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ثَمَنِ الْمِثْلِ أَوْ كَانَ بِهِ جِرَاحَةٌ أَوْ مَرَضٌ وَخَافَ مِنَ اسْتِعْمَالِهِ فَسَادَ الْعُضْوِ أَوْ شِدَّةَ الضنا فَيَنْبَغِي أَنْ يَصْبِرَ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ عَلَيْهِ وَقْتُ الْفَرِيضَةِ

Artinya: Siapa saja yang kesulitan menggunakan air, baik karena ketiadaannya setelah berusaha mencari, maupun karena ada yang menghalangi, seperti takut hewan buas, sulit karena dipenjara, air yang ada hanya cukup untuk minim dirinya atau minum kawannya, air yang ada milik orang lain dan tidak dijual kecuali dengan harga yang lebih mahal dari harga sepadan (normal), atau karena luka, karena penyakit yang menyebabkan rusaknya anggota tubuh atau justru menambah rasa sakit akibat terkena air, maka hendaknya ia bersabar sampai masuk waktu fardhu. (Al-Ghazali, Ihyâ ‘Ulumiddin, Terbitan Darut Taqwa lit-Turats, Jilid 1, Tahun 2000, hal. 222)

Meaning: Whoever faces difficulty in using water, whether due to its unavailability despite searching, or because of obstacles such as fear of wild animals, being imprisoned, the available water is only sufficient for themselves or their companions to drink, the water belongs to others and is not sold except at a price higher than its normal value, or due to wounds or illness where contact with water would cause damage to the body or increase pain, then they should wait until the time of the obligatory prayer enters (Al-Ghazali, Ihyâ ‘Ulumiddin, Published by Darut Taqwa lit-Turats, Volume 1, Year 2000, page 222)
