1. Pengenalan Langit
Langit adalah bagian atas permukaan bumi yang termasuk lapisan atmosfer, terdiri dari gas dan udara dengan komposisi berbeda di setiap lapisan yang membuatnya terlihat indah. Banyak orang mencari pemandangan langit saat matahari terbit atau terbenam sebagai sarana untuk menenangkan jiwa dan pikiran. Menurut NASA, warna biru langit berasal dari penyebaran sinar matahari oleh gas dan partikel udara, karena cahaya biru memiliki gelombang yang lebih pendek dan kecil sehingga tersebar lebih banyak.
2. 10 Keutamaan Memandang Langit Menurut Imam Al-Ghazali
Dalam kitab Al-Hikmatu fi Makhluqatillah, Imam Al-Ghazali menyatakan bahwa memandang langit memiliki sepuluh faedah, yaitu:
- Mengurangi kesedihan
- Meminimalisir rasa was-was
- Menghilangkan perasaan takut
- Membuat ingat kepada Allah SWT
- Mengembangkan rasa pengagungan kepada Allah SWT dalam hati
- Menghilangkan pikiran rendah
- Bermanfaat untuk menyembuhkan penyakit melankolia (depresi berat)
- Menghibur orang yang sedang merindukan seseorang
- Menyenangkan orang-orang yang mencintai
- Sebagai kiblat bagi orang yang berdoa
3. Langit Sebagai Tanda Kebesaran Allah SWT
Segala ciptaan Allah SWT memiliki manfaat dan tidak ada yang sia-sia. Beberapa ayat Al-Qur'an menjelaskan bahwa penciptaan langit dan bumi adalah tanda-tanda kekuasaan-Nya, antara lain:
- QS. Ali Imran ayat 190-191: Menyatakan bahwa penciptaan langit, bumi, dan pergantian siang malam adalah bukti kebesaran Allah bagi orang yang berakal, yang kemudian mengingat-Nya dan memohon perlindungan dari azab neraka.
- QS. Ad Dukhan ayat 38: Menegaskan bahwa Allah tidak menciptakan langit dan bumi secara main-main.
- QS. Al Jatsiyah ayat 3: Menyatakan bahwa di langit dan bumi terdapat tanda-tanda kebesaran Allah bagi orang mukmin.
- QS. Al Jatsiyah ayat 13: Menjelaskan bahwa Allah telah menundukkan segala sesuatu di langit dan bumi untuk kemanfaatan manusia sebagai rahmat-Nya.

Langit adalah anugerah gratis dari Allah SWT yang dapat dijadikan sarana rekreasi sekaligus untuk selalu mengingat dan mendekatkan diri kepada-Nya dengan rasa syukur yang mendalam

THE VIRTUES OF GAZING AT THE SKY
1. Introduction to the Sky
The sky is the upper part of the Earth's surface, classified as a distinct layer called the atmosphere. It consists of various gases and air, with different compositions in each layer, making it appear beautiful. Many people seek out views of the sky during sunrise or sunset as a means to calm their soul and mind. According to NASA, the blue color of the sky as seen by the human eye comes from sunlight that reaches Earth's atmosphere and scatters in all directions due to gases and particles in the air. Blue light scatters more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves.
2. 10 Virtues of Gazing at the Sky According to Imam Al-Ghazali
In his book Al-Hikmatu fi Makhluqatillah, Imam Al-Ghazali states that gazing at the sky has ten benefits, namely:
- Reduces sadness
- Minimizes anxiety
- Eliminates feelings of fear
- Reminds one of Allah SWT
- Develops a sense of reverence for Allah SWT in the heart
- Removes base thoughts
- Beneficial for curing melancholia (severe depression)
- Comforts those who are longing for someone
- Brings joy to people who love (each other)
- Serves as a qiblah (direction) for those who pray
3. The Sky as a Sign of Allah SWT's Greatness
All creations of Allah SWT have purpose and are not in vain. Several verses of the Qur'an explain that the creation of the sky and Earth are signs of His power, including:
- QS. Ali Imran verses 190-191: States that the creation of the sky, Earth, and the alternation of day and night are evidence of Allah's greatness for people of understanding, who then remember Him and seek protection from the torment of Hell.
- QS. Ad Dukhan verse 38: Affirms that Allah did not create the sky and Earth for mere play.
- QS. Al Jatsiyah verse 3: States that there are signs of Allah's greatness in the sky and Earth for believers.
- QS. Al Jatsiyah verse 13: Explains that Allah has subjected all things in the sky and Earth for the benefit of humanity as a mercy from Him.
4. Important Message
The sky is a free blessing from Allah SWT that can be used as a means of recreation while also serving to always remember and draw closer to Him with deep gratitude

وقليل: في النظر إلى السماء عشر فواءد: تنقص الهم، وتقلل السواس، وتزيل وهم الخوف، وتذكر بالله، وتنشر في القلب التعظيم الله، وتزيل الفكر الردئة، وتنفع لمرض السوداء، وتسلي المشتاق، وتوءنس المحبين، وهي قبلة دعاء الداعين (الحكمة في مخلوقات الله. دار احياء العلوم - بيروت)

إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Artinya: Sesungguhnya dalam penciptaan langit dan bumi serta pergantian malam dan siang terdapat tanda-tanda (kebesaran Allah) bagi orang yang berakal, (yaitu) orang-orang yang mengingat Allah sambil berdiri, duduk, atau dalam keadaan berbaring, dan memikirkan tentang penciptaan langit dan bumi (seraya berkata), “Ya Tuhan kami, tidaklah Engkau menciptakan semua ini sia-sia. Mahasuci Engkau. Lindungilah kami dari azab neraka"
Meaning: "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are signs (of Allah’s greatness) for people of understanding those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, or lying down, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth (saying), 'Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain. Glory be to You. Protect us from the torment of Hell"
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ
Artinya: Tidaklah Kami ciptakan langit, bumi, dan apa yang ada di antara keduanya secara main-main
Meaning: "We did not create the heavens, the earth, and what is between them for mere play" (Ad-Dukhan, Verse 38)
إِنَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآيَاتٍ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Artinya: Sesungguhnya di langit dan bumi benar-benar terdapat tanda-tanda (kebesaran Allah) bagi orang-orang mukmin
Meaning: "Indeed, in the sky and on earth there are certainly signs (of Allah’s greatness) for the believers" (Al-Jathiyah, Verse 3)
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Artinya: Dia telah menundukkan (pula) untukmu apa yang ada di langit dan apa yang ada di bumi semuanya (sebagai rahmat) dari-Nya. Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu benar-benar terdapat tanda-tanda (kebesaran Allah) bagi kaum yang berpikir
Meaning: "He has subjected for you all that is in the sky and all that is on the earth all [of it] from Him. Indeed, in that are certainly signs (of Allah’s greatness) for a people who reflect" (Al-Jathiyah, Verse 13)
