SEKELUMIT TENTANG ASYHUR AL-HURUM DAN KEISTIMEWAAN BULAN MUHARRAM
Di antara bulan-bulan dalam kalender Islam, terdapat bulan-bulan yang memiliki kemuliaan dan kehormatan khusus di sisi Allah SWT. Berikut adalah penjelasan ringkas mengenai Asyhur Al-Hurum dan keistimewaan Bulan Muharram.
1. Muharram Termasuk Asyhur Al-Hurum (Bulan-bulan yang Dihormati)
Menurut kesepakatan (Ijma') para ulama, terdapat empat bulan yang disebut sebagai Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum, yaitu:
Dzulqa’dah, Dzulhijjah, Muharram, dan Rajab.
"Empat bulan ini yang dimaksud dengan Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum menurut ijma' ulama."

2. Keutamaan Asyhur Al-Hurum
Allah Azza wa Jalla mengkhususkan bulan-bulan ini dengan kemuliaan yang luar biasa. Di dalamnya, Allah melarang perbuatan zalim karena besarnya kehormatan bulan-bulan tersebut.
"Termasuk perkara yang utama ialah empat bulan yang mulia ini... Allah telah mengkhususkan di bulan-bulan tersebut larangan berbuat dzalim karena agung kemuliaannya. Begitu pula, amal ibadah di dalamnya memiliki keutamaan di atas bulan-bulan yang lain."

3. Kenapa Dinamakan "Hurum"?
Dinamakan Hurum (yang diharamkan/dihormati) karena pada masa Jahiliyah pun bangsa Arab sudah mengagungkannya. Mereka mengharamkan peperangan di bulan-bulan ini, bahkan jika seseorang bertemu dengan pembunuh ayah atau saudaranya, mereka tidak akan membalasnya.
Dalam Islam, kemuliaan ini semakin ditinggikan.
✅ Kebaikan & Taat: Pahalanya dilipatgandakan.
❌ Kejahatan & Dosa: Hukumannya jauh lebih berat dibanding bulan lain.
Oleh karena itu, sangat dilarang untuk merusak kehormatan bulan-bulan mulia ini dengan perbuatan maksiat.

4. Keistimewaan Bulan Muharram
Bulan Muharram adalah bulan yang sangat agung dan keutamaannya sangat banyak.
"Ketahuilah, sesungguhnya Bulan Muharram adalah bulan yang Agung, dan keutamaannya banyak serta umum sekali."

Dalam riwayat lain disebutkan bahwa Muharram disebut sebagai "Syaahrullah" (Bulan Allah). Bulan ini adalah awal permulaan tahun. Di dalamnya terdapat hari yang istimewa, di mana jika ada kaum yang bertaubat pada hari tersebut, Allah Ta'ala akan menerima taubat mereka dengan sempurna.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF ASYHUR AL-HURUM AND THE VIRTUES OF THE MONTH OF MUHARRAM
Among the months in the Islamic calendar, there are specific months that possess special glory and honor in the sight of Allah SWT. Here is a concise explanation regarding Asyhur Al-Hurum and the special virtues of the Month of Muharram.
1. Muharram is Part of Asyhur Al-Hurum (The Sacred Months)
According to the consensus (Ijma') of the scholars, there are four months referred to as Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum, namely:
Dzulqa’dah, Dzulhijjah, Muharram, and Rajab.
"These four months are what is meant by Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum according to the consensus of the scholars."

2. The Virtues of Asyhur Al-Hurum
Allah Azza wa Jalla has specifically distinguished these months with immense greatness. In these months, Allah forbids acts of oppression and injustice due to the high sanctity of these times.
"Among the most virtuous matters are these four noble months... Allah has specifically forbidden oppression during them because of their great majesty. Likewise, acts of worship performed within them hold a virtue above those done in other months."

3. Why are they called "Hurum"?
They are named Hurum (meaning forbidden, sacred, or honored) because even during the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyah), the Arabs held them in high regard. They prohibited warfare and fighting during these months, to the point that even if someone encountered the killer of their father or brother, they would not retaliate.
In Islam, this sanctity is further elevated:
✅ Good Deeds & Obedience: Rewards are multiplied manifold.
❌ Evil & Sins: The punishment is far more severe compared to other months.
Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to violate the honor of these noble months with sinful acts.

4. The Special Virtues of the Month of Muharram
The Month of Muharram is a truly great month, and its virtues are numerous and all-encompassing.
"Know that indeed, the Month of Muharram is a great month, and its virtues are many and universal."

In another narration, Muharram is referred to as "Shaahrullah" (The Month of Allah). It marks the beginning of the new year. Within it lies a special day, where it is said that if a people repent on that day, Allah Ta'ala will accept their repentance perfectly.

وَالْأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ هِيَ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ وَالْمُحَرَّمُ وَرَجَبٌ هَذِهِ الْأَرْبَعَةُ هِيَ الْأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ بِإِجْمَاعِ الْعُلَمَاءِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْفُنُونِ
"Al-Ashur Al-hurum ialah bulan Dzulqa'dah, Dzulhijjah, Al-muharram dan Rajab. Empat bulan ini yang dimaksud Al-Asyhur Al-hurum menurut ijma' ulama dari Ashab Al-Funun"
"Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum are the months of Dzulqa’dah, Dzulhijjah, Al-Muharram, and Rajab. These four months are what is meant by Al-Asyhur Al-Hurum according to the consensus of the scholars from Ashab Al-Funun"
ومن الفاضل الشهور الأربعة الحرم وهي ذو القعدة وذو الحجة والمحرم ورجب خصهن الله عز وجل بالنهي عن الظلم فيهن لعظم حرمتهن، فكذلك الأعمال لها فيهن فضل على غيرها
"Termasuk perkara yang utama ialah empat bulan yang mulia, ialah bulan Dzulqaidah, Dzulhijjah, Muharram dan Rajab. Alloh azza wajalla telah mengkhususkan dibulan-bulan tersebut larangan dzolim karena agung kemulianya. Begitupula beramal didalamnya yang memiliki keutamaan diatas bulan-bulan yang lain"

وإنما سميت حرما لأن العرب في الجاهلية كانت تعظمها وتحرم فيها القتال حتى لو أن أحدهم لقي قاتل أبيه وابنه وأخيه في هذه الأربعة الأشهر لم يهجه
Dinamakan Hurum karena Orang arab dizaman jahiliyah mengagungkanmya dan mengharamkan peperangan didalamnya, Sehingga seandainya salah satu dari mereka bertemu orang yang membunuh bapaknya, anaknya dan saudaranya di empat bulan-bulan ini dia tidak mencelanya
They are called 'Hurum' because even in the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyah), the Arabs used to venerate them and prohibit warfare and fighting during these months. So much so that if one of them were to meet the killer of his father, son, or brother within these four months, he would not attack or harm him
ولما جاء الإسلام لم يزدها إلا حرمة وتعظيما ولأن الحسنات والطاعات فيها تتضاعف وكذلك السيئات أيضا أشد من غيرها فلا يجوز انتهاك حرمة الأشهر الحرم
Dan ketika islam datang maka empat bulan yang telah disebutkan tidak bertambah terkecuali dihormati dan diagungkan, karena Kebaikan-kebaikan dan keta'atan didalamnya dilipatgandakan. Begitupun pula, keburukan-keburukan akan lebih berat balasanya di selain Bulan-bulan ini. Maka tidak diperbolehkan merusak kehormatan bulan-bulan mulia
And when Islam came, these four aforementioned months gained nothing but increased respect and glorification. This is because good deeds and acts of obedience are multiplied manifold within them. Similarly, evil deeds carry a far heavier punishment than they do in other months. Therefore, it is not permissible to violate the sanctity of these noble months
اعلم : أن المحرم شهر عظيم ، وفضله كثير عميم.
Ketahuilah, Sesungguhnya Bulan Muharram Bulan yang Agung, dan keutamaanya banyak dan umum sekali
Know that indeed, the Month of Muharram is a great month, and its virtues are many and all-encompassing
عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمُحَرَّمَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ رَأْسُ السَّنَةِ فِيهِ يُكْسَى الْبَيْتُ وَيُؤَرَّخُ التَّارِيخُ وَيُضْرَبُ فِيهِ الْوَرِقُ وَفِيهِ يَوْمٌ كَانَ تَابَ فِيهِ قَوْمٌ فَتَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ
Diriwayatkan dari Ubaid bin Umair ia berkata : "Sesungguhnya bulan Muharram ialah bulan Alloh Ta'ala, bulan permulaan tahun, didalamnya Baitullah dipakaikan kiswah, dimulai tanggal baru, dicetak uang di dalamnya. Dan di bulan Muharram ada hari yang mana Kaum bertaubat didalamnya maka Alloh Ta'ala akan menerima Taubat mereka"
Narrated from Ubaid bin Umair, he said: "Indeed, the month of Muharram is the month of Allah Ta'ala, the first month of the year. In it, the Kaaba is clothed with its covering (Kiswah), the new calendar begins, and currency is minted. And in the month of Muharram, there is a special day wherein if a people repent, Allah Ta'ala will accept their repentance"
