Kisah dari seorang santri.. Alhamdulillah, pada malam Kamis Legi, 15 Syafar 1448 H yang bertepatan dengan 29 Juli 2026 M, saya bersama teman-teman telah menyelesaikan pengajian salah satu kitab ilmu Balaghah (Sastra Arab) yang berjudul Jauhar Al-Maknun. Kitab ini merupakan karya ulama besar Syekh Abdurrahman Al-Akhdari yang juga dikenal sebagai penyusun kitab Sullam Al-Munawrok.
Syekh Abdurrahman Al-Akhdari selesai menyusun kitab ini pada bulan Dzulhijjah tahun 950 H, saat usianya genap 30 tahun (beliau lahir pada tahun 920 H), sebagaimana tertulis pada bait terakhir kitab tersebut. Dijelaskan pula bahwa saat menyusun karya ini, beliau sedang menempuh perjalanan kerohanian menuju Maqam Hakikat atau makrifat kewalian. Hal ini terlihat jelas dari setiap contoh dan pembahasan di dalamnya (bab), yang senantiasa mengarah pada upaya Takhliyyah (membersihkan jiwa) dan Tahliyyah (menghiasi hati dengan sifat-sifat mulia).
Usai pembacaan dan penjelasan hingga tuntas, saya menyampaikan pesan sederhana kepada teman-teman, mengikuti ciri khas kiyai ku: Pertama, mari kita panjatkan puji syukur ke hadirat Allah SWT, karena hanya dengan pertolongan-Nya kita mampu mengaji kitab ini sampai khatam. Kedua, saya memohon maaf sebesar-besarnya apabila ada kesalahan dalam membaca harokat, menentukan rujukan, makna, maupun pemahaman maksud kitab. Segala kekurangan itu murni keterbatasan dan kelalaian saya pribadi. Ketiga, saya berpesan kepada diri sendiri dan segenap teman: jangan pernah berhenti mengaji, apalagi malas mengulang kembali kitab-kitab yang telah dipelajari. Saya sendiri telah mengkhatamkan kitab Jauhar Al-Maknun ini sebanyak empat kali dengan guru dan pondok yang berbeda, namun ilmu di dalamnya tetap terasa luas dan dalam. Setiap kali membacanya kembali, selalu ditemukan pemahaman baru yang belum didapatkan sebelumnya.

COMPLETING THE STUDY OF KITAB JAUHAR AL-MAKNUN
A story from a santri... All praise is due to Allah. On the evening of Thursday Legi, 15 Syafar 1448 H, corresponding to 29 July 2026 M, together with my friends, I completed the study of a book on Balaghah (Arabic Rhetoric) titled Jauhar Al-Maknun. This work was written by the great scholar Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Akhdari, who is also well known as the author of Sullam Al-Munawrok.
Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Akhdari finished compiling this book in the month of Dzulhijjah in the year 950 H, when he was exactly 30 years old he was born in 920 H just as he noted in the final verses of the book. It is also explained that while composing this work, he was traversing the spiritual path toward the Maqam Haqiqah, the station of true spiritual realization. This shines clearly through every example and discussion in its chapters, which consistently guide toward Takhliyyah (purification of the soul) and Tahliyyah (adornment of the heart with noble virtues).
After finishing the recitation and explanation of the text, I shared a simple message with my friends, following the gentle way of my teacher: First, let us offer all gratitude to Allah SWT, for only by His help were we able to study this book until completion. Second, I ask for your forgiveness if there were any mistakes in pronouncing the vowel marks, citing references, conveying meanings, or understanding the deeper intent of the text. Any shortcomings are purely my own limitations and oversight. Third, I remind myself and all my friends: never stop seeking knowledge, and never be reluctant to revisit and review what you have already learned. I myself have completed the study of Jauhar Al-Maknun four times, under different teachers and in different boarding schools, yet its knowledge still feels vast and deep. Every time I read it again, I find new insights I had not grasped before.
