Pernahkah kamu bertanya, mengapa hanya sujud yang diulang dua kali dalam sholat sedangkan rukun lainnya cukup satu kali? Berikut penjelasannya yang dikutip dari kitab Hasyiah Al-Bajuri dan Fawa'idul Mukhtarah.
1. Puncak Kerendahan Hati
Sujud dilakukan dua kali untuk menunjukkan kerendahan hati yang paling tinggi, dengan meletakkan bagian tubuh yang paling mulia yaitu kepala di tempat yang sama dengan pijakan kaki. Inilah sebabnya sujud lebih utama daripada ruku'.
2. Merendahkan Kesombongan Setan
Sujud juga menjadi counter bagi kesombongan iblis. Ia pernah enggan bersujud kepada Nabi Adam 'alaihissalam, sementara kita anak cucu Adam justru diperintahkan bersujud sebanyak dua kali. Diriwayatkan bahwa setiap kali hamba bersujud, setan menjauh sambil menangis:
"Aduhai celakaku! Anak Adam disuruh bersujud lalu ia bersujud, baginya surga. Aku pun disuruh bersujud namun aku menolak, maka bagiku neraka."
3. Momen Kedekatan Paling Dekat
Sujud adalah saat di mana posisi hamba paling dekat dengan Allah SWT (rohaniah). Sebagaimana sabda Nabi ﷺ: "Keadaan paling dekat seorang hamba dengan Tuhannya adalah ketika ia bersujud."
4. Sebagai Bentuk Syukur
Menurut penjelasan kitab Fawa'idul Mukhtarah, saat para malaikat bersujud kepada Nabi Adam lalu mengangkat kepala, mereka melihat Iblis tidak mau ikut bersujud dan dicela Allah. Malaikat pun bersujud untuk kedua kalinya sebagai rasa syukur karena Allah senantiasa melimpahkan rahmat kepada mereka.

📜 THE WISDOM OF PERFORMING PROSTRATION TWICE IN EVERY PRAYER RAK'AH
Have you ever wondered why prostration (sujud) is the only pillar of prayer repeated twice, while all other pillars are done just once? Here is the explanation drawn from the books Hasyiah Al-Bajuri and Fawa'idul Mukhtarah.
1. The Peak of Humility
Prostration is performed twice to show the highest form of humility: placing the most noble part of the body the head on the same level where feet rest. This is why prostration holds greater virtue than bowing (ruku').
2. Humbling the Arrogance of Satan
Prostration also stands against Satan’s pride. He once refused to prostrate before Prophet Adam 'alaihissalam, yet we, the children of Adam, are commanded to prostrate twice. It is narrated that every time a servant prostrates, Satan withdraws weeping and says:
"Woe to me! The children of Adam were commanded to prostrate, so they prostrated thus for them is Paradise. I too was commanded to prostrate, but I refused thus for me is Hellfire."
3. The Moment of Nearest Closeness
Prostration is the spiritual moment when a servant is closest to Allah SWT. As the Prophet ﷺ said: "The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is in prostration."
4. As an Act of Gratitude
According to Fawa'idul Mukhtarah, when the angels prostrated before Prophet Adam then lifted their heads, they saw Iblis refused to prostrate and was rejected by Allah. So the angels prostrated a second time, giving thanks that Allah had not rejected them.

وإنماكرر السجود دون غيره من الأركان لما فيه من زيادة التواضع بوضع أشرف الأعضاء على مواطىء الأقدام ولهذا كان افضل من الركوعولما فيه من إرغام الشيطان وإذلاله حيث لم يسجد لآدم وأمر ابن آدم بالسجود فسجد مرتين
Hanya sujud yang diulang-ulang (2 kali) _bukan rukun shalat lainnya_ karena di dalamnya menunjukkan kerendahan hati (tawadhu') yang lebih, yaitu dengan meletakkan anggota tubuh yang paling mulia di tempat yang sejajar dengan tempat pijakan kaki. Oleh karena itu, sujud itu lebih utama daripada rukuk. Dan di dalam sujud juga bertujuan untuk menghinakan dan merendahkan setan, sebab setan enggan bersujud kepada Nabi Adam, sedangkan anak cucu Adam diperintahkan bersujud 2 kali.

ولذلك ورد أنه إذا سجد العبد اعتزل الشيطان يبكي ويقول يا ويلى أمر ابن آدم بالسجود فسجد.فله الجنة وأمرت بالسجود فلم أسجد فلي النار
Karena itu, diriwayatkan bahwa apabila seorang hamba bersujud, maka setan akan menjauh sambil menangis dan berkata: Aduhai celakanya aku, Anak Adam diperintahkan untuk bersujud dan ia pun bersujud, maka surga baginya. Sedangkan aku diperintahkan untuk bersujud, tapi aku tidak mau bersujud, maka bagiku neraka
Therefore, it is narrated that whenever a servant prostrates, Satan draws away weeping and says: "Woe is me! The children of Adam were commanded to prostrate, so they prostrated thus Paradise is theirs. I too was commanded to prostrate, but I refused so Hellfire is mine"
ولما فيه من شدة القرب بين العبد وربه كما ورد أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد
Dan karena di dalam sujud terdapat kedekatan yang luar biasa antara seorang hamba dan Tuhannya, sebagaimana diriwayatkan: Keadaan paling dekat antara seorang hamba dengan Tuhannya adalah ketika ia sedang bersujud
And in prostration lies an extraordinary closeness between a servant and his Lord, as is narrated: The closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is in prostration
الحكمة في أن السجود مرتان والركوع مرة واحدة قيل: لأن الملائكة لما سجدوا لآدم ورفعوا رؤوسهم وجدوا إبليس لم يسجد، فعلموا أن الله خذله فسجدوا مرة أخرى شكرا لله إذ لم يخذلهم.
Hikmah mengapa sujud dilakukan 2 kali dan rukuk satu kali, dikatakan bahwasanya ketika malaikat bersujud kepada Adam kemudian nereka mengangkat kepalanya (bangkit dari sujudnya), mereka melihat iblis tidak bersujud kepada Nabi Adam. Mereka mengetahui bahwa Allah mencela iblis tersebut, lalu mereka sujud kali kedua karena bersyukur karena Allah tidak mencela mereka
It is explained that the wisdom behind performing prostration twice and bowing only once is this: when the angels prostrated before Adam, then lifted their heads (rose from prostration), they saw that Iblis had refused to prostrate to Prophet Adam.
