KISAH PEMUDA MENJADI WALI KARENA SERING MERAYAKAN MAULID NABI
Diceritakan dalam kitab I'anatuth Tholibin juz 3 halaman 365, pada masa kekhalifahan Amirul Mukminin Harun Ar-Rasyid, hiduplah seorang pemuda di kota Basrah (sebuah provinsi kuno di irak). Sehari-hari kelakuannya kurang baik, sehingga penduduk kota memandangnya dengan pandangan merendahkan.
Namun, ada satu hal yang selalu ia lakukan dengan sungguh-sungguh: setiap kali bulan Rabi'ul Awwal tiba, ia akan mencuci pakaiannya hingga bersih, memakai wewangian, berhias diri, lalu mengadakan acara dan mengundang orang untuk membacakan maulid nabi ﷺ. Kebiasaan mulia ini ia jalani bertahun-tahun lamanya.
Ketika waktu kematiannya tiba, penduduk Basrah mendengar suara gaib yang berseru:
"Wahai penduduk Basrah, hadirilah jenazah orang ini dan saksikanlah! Ia adalah seorang wali di antara para wali Allah, dan kedudukannya sangat mulia di sisi-Ku."
Maka seluruh penduduk pun menghadiri pemakamannya dengan penuh hormat.
Tak lama kemudian, ada orang yang memimpikan pemuda itu dalam keadaan mengenakan pakaian sutra sundus dan gagah. Ia pun ditanya: "Dengan amalan apa engkau memperoleh kemuliaan sebesar ini?"
Pemuda itu menjawab tenang:
"Berkat sikapku yang selalu mengagungkan peringatan Maulid Nabi Muhammad ﷺ."

THE STORY OF A YOUNG MAN WHO BECAME A WALI FOR HONOURING THE MAWLID
It is narrated in the book I'anatuth Tholibin, Volume 3, page 365, that during the caliphate of Amirul Mukminin Harun Ar-Rasyid, there lived a young man in the city of Basrah (an ancient region in Iraq). He led a life of misconduct, so the people of the city looked down upon him with disdain.
Yet there was one thing he always did with utmost devotion: whenever the month of Rabi'ul Awwal arrived, he would wash his clothes until they were clean, apply fragrance, adorn himself, then hold a gathering and invite others to recite the Mawlid of the Prophet ﷺ. This noble practice he kept up for many long years.
When his time of death came, the people of Basrah heard a mysterious voice calling out:
"O people of Basrah, come and witness the funeral of this man! He is one of the saints of Allah, and he holds a most honourable station near Me."
So all the townsfolk attended his burial with great respect.
Not long after, someone saw the young man in a dream, robed in splendid silk garments of Paradise. He was asked: "By what deed did you attain such great honour?"
The young man replied calmly:
"By my constant reverence for the commemoration of the Mawlid of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ."

DALIL
وَحُكِيَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِيْ زَمَانِ أَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ هَارُوْنَ الرَّشِيْدِ شَابٌّ فِي الْبَصْرَةِ مُسْرِفٌ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَكَانَ أَهْلُ الْبَلَدِ يَنْظُرُوْنَ إِلَيْهِ بِعَيْنِ التَّحْقِيْرِ لِأَجْلِ أَفْعَالِهِ الْخَبِيْثَةِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ شَهْرُ رَبِيْعِ الْأَوَّلِ غَسَلَ ثِيَابَهُ وَتَعَطَّرَ وَتَجَمَّلَ وَعَمِلَ وَلِيْمَةً وَاسْتَقْرَأَ فِيْهَا مَوْلِدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَدَامَ عَلَى هَذَا الْحَالِ زَمَانًا طَوِيْلًا ثُمَّ لَمَّا مَاتَ سَمِعَ أَهْلُ الْبَلَدِ هَاتِفًا يَقُوْلُ اُحْضُرُوْا يَا أَهْلَ الْبَصْرَةِ وَاشْهَدُوْا جَنَازَةَ وَلِيٍّ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءِ اللهِ فَإِنَّهُ عَزِيْزٌ عِنْدِيْ فَحَضَرَ أَهْلُ الْبَلَدِ جَنَازَتَهُ وَدَفَنُوْهُ فَرَأَوْهُ فِي الْمَنَامِ وَهُوَ يَرْفُلُ فِيْ حُلَلِ سُنْدُسٍ وَاِسْتَبْرَقٍ فَقِيْلَ لَهُ بِمَ نِلْتَ هَذِهِ الْفَضِيْلَةَ قَالَ بِتَعْظِيْمِ مَوْلِدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Diceritakan pada zaman Amirul Mukminin Harun Ar-Rasyid ada seorang pemuda di kota Basrah. Ia berbuat tidak bagus, hingga penduduk negerinya menatapnya dengan pandangan rendah atas kelakuannya, tetapi ketika tiba bulan Rabiul Awal ia mencuci bajunya, memakai wewangian, berhias diri, mengadakan acara pembacaan maulid Nabi Muhammad Saw. Dan hal itu dilakukan setiap masuk bulan Rabiul Awal selama bertahun-tahun.
Ketika kemat!ian menjemput pemuda itu, penduduk kota Basrah mendengar suara tanpa rupa berkata:
“Wahai penduduk Basrah, hadirilah dan saksikanlah jenaz4h wali diantara wali-walinya Allah, karena dia adalah orang yang mulia menurutku”.
Penduduk kotapun menghadiri jenaz4hnya dan menguburnya dengan baik.
Kemudian mereka bermimpi bertemu dengan pemuda itu, ia sangat gagah memakai sutra sundus, lalu ia ditanya: "Dengan apa kau mendapat kehormatan ini ?”
ia menjawab:
“Berkat mengagungkan maulid Nabi Muhammad Saw."
It is narrated that during the era of Amirul Mukminin Harun Ar-Rasyid, there lived a young man in the city of Basrah. He used to commit misdeeds, so the people of his land looked down on him because of his behaviour. Yet whenever the month of Rabi'ul Awwal arrived, he would wash his clothes, apply fragrance, adorn himself, and hold a gathering for the recitation of the Mawlid of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He kept doing this faithfully every Rabi'ul Awwal for many years.
When his death came, the people of Basrah heard an unseen voice proclaim:
"O people of Basrah, come and witness the funeral of a wali from among the saints of Allah, for he is greatly honoured in My sight."
So the townspeople attended his funeral and buried him with respect. Later, they saw him in a dream, appearing noble and splendid, robed in fine silk. When he was asked: "By what means have you attained this honour?"
He replied:
"Through my reverence for the Mawlid of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ"
