KH. Abdullah Ma'shum Djauhari atau yang akrab disapa Gus Ma'shum Lirboyo, adalah sosok guru besar sekaligus pendiri organisasi pencak silat Pagar Nusa (PN). Beliau pernah menyampaikan pesan-pesan mulia yang sangat berharga bagi kita semua:

 

1. Hormati Guru dan Orang Tua

 

"Di dunia ini ada dua sosok yang paling hebat dan sakti: yang pertama adalah Guru, dan yang kedua adalah Orang Tua. Maka, barangsiapa yang ingin hidupnya penuh keberkahan, jangan sekali-kali membuat mereka murka atau kecewa."

 

2. Hindari Kecurangan

 

"Jauhilah segala bentuk tipu daya dan rayuan suap yang sering dibungkus dengan kata-kata manis seperti 'hadiah'. Sebab, hal itulah yang menjadi faktor utama yang menghambat dan merusak perjuangan kita."

 

3. Jujur dan Berani

 

"Jangan pernah memiliki sifat pengecut dan munafik, apalagi bersikap seperti 'maling teriak maling'. Jangan pula meninggikan diri sendiri dengan cara menjatuhkan teman atau kawan sendiri. Jadilah seorang pemimpin yang jujur dan berlaku adil"

1. Respect Teachers and Parents

 

"In this world, there are two most powerful and great figures: the first is the Teacher, and the second is the Parent. Therefore, whoever wishes for their life to be filled with blessings, must never make them angry or disappointed."

 

2. Avoid Deception and Bribery

 

"Stay away from all forms of deception and bribery, which are often wrapped in sweet words such as 'gifts'. Because, that is the main factor that hinders and damages our struggle and efforts."

 

3. Be Honest and Brave

 

"Never have a cowardly and hypocritical nature, let alone act like 'a thief shouting thief' (blaming others to cover own mistakes). Do not elevate yourself by bringing down your friends or colleagues. Be a leader who is honest and fair"
